In my personal life, I have had the pleasure of living in many places among many different people. I have always chosen my career path to traverse the places that appeared to also embrace equity, inclusion, and justice. I have had the pleasure of teaching people of all ages, I have taught in Public, Magnet, International, Private, and online programs. My own identity, as a pacifist, a lover of nature and of exploration, informs my teaching, my research, and my scholarship through compassion. They should also be guided to have effective skills and abilities to acknowledge and understand emotional literacy, as well as how these emotions relate to action, knowledge, and values.

Teaching and learning should be fun and interactive, challenging and engaging. I believe in a student-centered classroom that utilizes technology to enhance student learning, reflection, and understanding. I encourage students to take risks, and I work to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere that is conducive to risk-taking and teamwork. A safe learning environment contributes to each class participant's ability to grow academically, socially, and civically. In order to achieve this, having an atmosphere of collegiality, support, and respect for others’ perspectives will create an environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
